Ageless Grace
Ageless Grace is a cutting-edge fitness program based on neuroplasticity that activates all 5 functions of the brain – analytical, strategic, kinesthetic learning, memory/recall, creativity and imagination – and simultaneously addresses all 21 physical skills needed for lifelong physical function. Created by Denise Medved, the program is done seated and consists of 21 exercise tools designed for all ages and abilities.
Cardio/Balance
This class is designed to get the heart pumping a little faster and to challenge balance through a series of functional movements, dance steps, balance drills and lower body strengthening exercises.
While participants are encouraged to stand (using a chair for support, if needed), this class can effectively be done seated. No equipment needed.
Drums Alive!
Participants experience a combination of music, sound and movement therapy while combining drumming and dance to increase energy levels and improve health. Drums Alive! Is also a wonderful social activity that is fun and exciting. This class also influences the electric activity in various sensory motor regions of the brain.
Involves a combination of seated and standing motions, but can be adapted to seated only.
★ NOTE: Facilities should be prepared to purchase stability balls and round laundry baskets for this class (SydFIt can assist with this), so will need a storage location for them. Drumsticks are provided at the class.
Gentle Chair Yoga
Gentle Yoga techniques help participants reduce stress, improve flexibility and stimulate circulation. Sessions focus on low-impact movements designed to improve well-being and stimulate body and mind through enhanced breathing techniques performed in concert with Yoga movements.
Line Dancing/Zumba
A low-impact dance class that combines popular dance movements with a variety of exercises to help participants with balance, flexibility and mobility, while having fun. Generally choreographed to a variety of different kinds of music, line dancing provides individuals a chance to work on current and past dance steps while improving overall fitness levels.
Line Dancing/Zumba can be completed from a standing or seated position.
Seated Kickboxing
Participants engage in various seated drills using low impact kickboxing techniques. Arms and legs are used with gentle punches and kicking combinations. Helps dexterity, coordination and strength. Also fun with exciting music! Especially helpful for those with Parkinson’s Disease.
Stretch and Balance
This low-impact class is designed to increase flexibility and range of motion while broadening the body’s freedom of movement. Participants enjoy a variety of static stretching movements that are designed to improve posture, gait, balance and overall independence while reducing muscular stress. Participants will also increase confidence through a series of movements that target improved balance.

Strong Muscles/Healthy Joints
Low-impact sessions include a variety of exercises designed to improve muscular strength using equipment for some exercises (light weights, bands, etc.) and a combination of motions specifically aimed at improving joint health. Participants have fun while improving overall strength and mobility. Sessions include a brief endurance set.

Tai Chi with a Twist
Participants learn the slow, relaxing movements of the Sun Style of Tai Chi. Movements are designed to increase flexibility, muscular strength and overall fitness. Stretches and light exercises are added intermittently to the sessions along with warm up and cool down movements. Sessions are interesting, fun and beneficial to those experiencing joint pain or stiffness.
Tai Chi can be completed from a seated or standing position.
Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program
Taught by Arthritis Foundation certified class leaders, this community based recreational group exercise program entails several components which together, help to reduce pain and stiffness, help maintain or improve mobility, strength and functional mobility (as taken from the Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program Overview).
Involves a combination of seated and standing motions, but can be adapted to seated only.
Exercise for Cognitive Impairment/Dementia
This program specifically targets areas such as fall prevention, maintaining joint health and muscle strength for Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s), managing pain prevention reducing hospitalizations, physician visits and medications, where possible. The focus is on functional fitness. A variety of portable equipment is used to enhance engagement and fun, while targeting the listed areas.
Drums Alive! Cognitive Impairment/Dementia
Participants experience a combination of music, sound and movement therapy while combining drumming and low impact body movements to increase energy levels and improve health. Drums Alive! is a wonderful social activity at every level, that is fun and exciting. This class also influences the electric activity in various sensory motor regions of the brain. For Dementia, pads on tables can be used instead of balls. Drumsticks are provided.
Seated Kickboxing for Cognitive Impairment/Dementia
Participants follow the instructor into a gentle series of hand and foot motions designed to prevent falls (balance) and improve health through movement. Hand and eye coordination becomes a focus, while going through a variety of kickboxing “drills”, designed especially for the cognitively impaired.

SydFit designs safe and effective group fitness programs created to enhance the quality of senior living through improved balance, flexibility, mobility and strength. Qualified fitness professionals lead participants through exercise sessions that can be enjoyed from standing or seated positions. SydFit‘s “Fitness for All” concept accommodates seniors at various fitness levels helping them to gently reap the rewards they desire. Exercise sessions are designed to engage participants, provide variety and promote fitness diversity. Music is included at most sessions to enhance class enjoyment and provide tempo. Best of all, SydFit brings classes to your location where fitness can be enjoyed in the comfort of familiar surroundings. SydFit is also available to accommodate senior group fitness training at local senior centers, community centers and other locations for those who enjoy a change of scene.
Clients are advised to check with their medical professional(s) prior to attending fitness sessions with SydFit professional trainers.
